Homemade Rhubarb Infused Gin

Updated: Aug 28, 2020

Its perfect for bringing your taste buds into the taste of Summer with our easy rhubarb infused gin. We grow our own at the allotment but you can always find it at any good super market - small and pink make a pinker gin too!

Rhubarb is hugely understated, its a plant that pretty much looks after itself and yields are big! So you get plenty for you money, year after year.

I love a Summers evening sipping on a G&T and what better way to do it than by making your own infused rhubarb gin?!

Is rhubarb poisonous?

Yes and no. The stalks are totally safe to eat. You can even enjoy them raw—but be warned, they’re very tart!

The leaves are a different story. They contain a chemical called oxalic acid which, when consumed in large quantities, can be fatal so just make sure you wash your hands & you'll be fine.

How do I make it?

We've used a long mason jar for ours so we had enough room to shake it around a little but its entirely up to you & whether you want to make the same qty as our recipe below but once you try it i'm sure you will do it year after year... We've even ladled it into mini bottles for gifting too which makes a really lovely gift idea. See below for the recipe. Happy Drinking x
